Spring
- Inspect the roofline and gutters after winter
- Service the cooling system before heavy use
- Check exterior caulk and paint
- Test sump pump operation
Summer
- Clean the dryer vent and duct
- Inspect deck boards and railings
- Trim plants away from siding and the HVAC unit
- Check window screens for tears
Fall
- Clear gutters and downspouts
- Shut off and drain exterior hose bibs
- Replace the furnace filter
- Check weatherstripping on doors
Winter
- Test smoke and CO detectors
- Watch for ice dams along the roof edge
- Keep the furnace intake clear
- Inspect under sinks for slow leaks
